Family-friendly buffet restaurant Skegness

The "Raff55" in Skegness, England, is a popular all-you-can-eat buffet restaurant that has made a name for itself with its versatility and family-friendly atmosphere. It is owned by Raff55 Limited, a company that has been operating since 2015, and has established itself as a go-to spot in the coastal town for locals and tourists seeking a relaxed meal with a wide selection. The restaurant's concept is based on a fixed price for unlimited access to a wide range of dishes, which are prepared live in front of the guests—an approach that promises both variety and entertainment. It caters to all age groups and offers a casual environment that is particularly suitable for celebrations like birthdays or larger groups.

Vibrant atmosphere in buffet restaurant

The interior of "Raff55" is bright and open, focusing on functionality and a lively atmosphere. The decor is modern and straightforward, with large tables accommodating groups and a clear view of the so-called "Live Cooking Stations," where chefs showcase their skills. There is no excessive decoration; instead, it has a practical layout that emphasizes the food. For children, there are special offerings such as entertainment or the chance to create their own pizzas and ice creams, making the restaurant a favorite for families. A parking lot is available, which makes access easier, especially for those traveling from outside.

Variety of cuisines in buffet restaurant

The menu is a melting pot of different cuisines, ranging from traditional British to international influences. The Chicken & Mushroom Risotto is particularly popular; it’s a creamy dish made with fresh ingredients and a rich texture, often noted as one of the highlights of the Italian station. The Sunday Carvery is also well-received—a traditional British roast featuring juicy meat and a selection of sides like crispy roast potatoes, giving guests a taste of home-cooked meals. The freshly prepared pizzas are another favorite, where guests can combine toppings to their liking, which particularly excites younger visitors. For dessert, the Ice Cream Sundae stands out, allowing for customization with various toppings, providing a playful conclusion to the meal.

Unlimited dining at Raff55 restaurant

Service at "Raff55" is often described as friendly and helpful, with staff striving to maintain good oversight even during peak times—such as in the main season or on weekends. The live stations create a level of interaction between chefs and guests, adding a personal touch to the experience. However, on busy days, there may be wait times, and some visitors have noted that the quality of the food can vary, depending on how long it has been on the buffet. The option to order via an app or to check current offers is appreciated by regulars and helps streamline the process.

Flexible party packages for events

Guest opinions are mixed but predominantly positive. Many praise the extensive selection and the opportunity to try various dishes, as well as the family-friendly focus, making "Raff55" an ideal place for families. However, there are also criticisms: some report overcrowded times where cleanliness suffers—such as tables not being cleared promptly—or dishes that are perceived as undercooked or overcooked, like hard pasta or greasy pizzas. Nevertheless, the overall impression is that the restaurant offers a solid option for a straightforward, filling meal, particularly appealing for larger groups or celebrations.

A special aspect of "Raff55" is its flexibility for events. It offers party packages for children's birthdays, stag dos, or corporate events, including entertainment such as face painting or custom cakes upon request. The emphasis on fresh ingredients and daily in-house preparation sets it apart from typical fast-food offerings, even though it does not aim for a gourmet experience. There are plenty of options for both vegetarians and meat lovers, and its location in Skegness makes it a convenient stop for travelers exploring the coastal town.

CLOSED over the winter but re-opening late spring. Fixed price buffet plus show kitchen with plenty to eat. You'll need to book as it gets very busy. They don't do the Sunday Carvery anymore.

Absolutely Phenomenal. The cleanliness and atmosphere is very good. The food is even better, especially as an all-you-can-eat-buffet. The dinners were great; there is a range of great foods to eat here. The deserts are even better. There are pancakes, ice cream, toffees and more. It may not be as good as a range as other places but it does what it does very well. If you live in Skegness I reccomend eating here, the food quality is exceptional.

Went here with my partner after seeing an advert at Skegness Speedway, around 4pm on a Sunday afternoon. We both really enjoyed our meal, there was a wide selection and the chefs were happy to cook off whatever you wanted (can recommend the peri-peri chicken) dishes were replenished frequently, staff were welcoming, friendly and very efficient. It wasn't particularly busy when we arrived, but it was getting busier as we were finishing up. The food wasn't gourmet, nor would you expect it to be...but it was excellent value for money. And the staff didn't make us feel like pigs when we went up for our 3rd plate of mains, or our second helping of desserts! Would definitely recommend.

Really gone downhill, we have been coming for years but this will be our last visit, the waitress was miserable and just mumbled and didn't make us feel welcome. The quality of the food is really poor compared to what it was.

The food was good but the curries were very poor. They were just shop bought jar curries. The meats on the carvery were fantastic, especially the beef. The pizza was freshly made in front of you and tasted beautiful. Overall a great place to have a good scran just avoid the curry. I would definitely recommend this place

Raff55 don’t support people with dietary requirements, because of this myself and husband couldn’t eat anything and had to sit while the rest of our party ate, really spoilt his birthday. Definitely won’t be returning and that’s a shame because before the so called revamp they did and the manger even said so when we were talking to him.

Very quiet when we went in and so atmosphere wasn't great. Food was OK, but much of the same thing, unfortunately. Service good and staff friendly
